What format should I use?

CODE128 works for any text/number. EAN-13 and UPC-A are for retail products. CODE39 is common in logistics.

How many digits does EAN-13 need?

Exactly 12 digits β€” the 13th (check digit) is calculated automatically.

Are the barcodes scannable?

Yes, they use the same JsBarcode library used in many commercial apps.
